Yesterday morning we had a killing frost at the farm, so named because it signals death for tender annual plants. It was a surprise for many farmers in the area, and it brings my first growing season (mostly) to a close.
I ran out to the field early yesterday to document the frost, and this special edition newsletter is a collection of the images I took. I cried on the drive to the farm–it was very emotional for me! And so, in honor of the frost, the end of a season, and to commemorate that fleeting hour, I offer my photos.
Warmly,
Samantha
