How does it Work?

To order Loose Flowers, you’ll first need to decide what arrangements you want to make with them! Then, you will have to figure out how many flowers you will need to bring your vision to life. More on that below.

Once you have a rough idea how many flowers you’ll need, it’s time to reserve your date with us. Fill out our inquiry form to start the ball rolling!

When you reserve your date with us, we’ll create a Style Sheet for you showing your chosen color palette and the flowers that are likely to be in season the week of your wedding in that color palette.

One or two days before your event, you’ll need to come to our farm and pick up your flowers. We will give them to you in buckets of water, ready to be transported to your home or venue.

After that, it’s up to you! Time to get crafty!

We recommend that you keep both the loose flowers and your finished floral arrangements in a cool (preferably with AC) place out of direct sunlight and away from pets and small children. Keep them in water and change the water daily. Flowers should be fine in these conditions until your event 🙂

How Many Flowers do I Need?

You’ll have to figure out how many stems to order based on what you plan to make.

Here’s a chart to help you figure out how many flowers you’ll need for some different styles of arrangements:

Type of ArrangementStems Needed
Small bouquet20-30 stems
Large bouquet50-60 stems
Mason Jar / Small Vase10-15 stems
Large Vase30-40 stems
Compote Centerpiece60-80 stems
Bud Vase3 stems
Boutonniere3 stems
Flower Crown15-20 stems

Doing the Flower Math

You’ll need to do a bit of flower math to figure out your order!

Loose Flowers come in bunches of 10 stems. So, if you need 45 stems, you should round up and order 5 bunches.

Example Flower Math:

12 Mason Jar Table Centerpieces: 12 * 15 = 180 stems
1 Large Bouquet: 1 * 60 = 60 stems
3 Small Bouquets: 3 * 20 = 60 stems

——————————————————————————–
Total flowers needed: 180 + 60 + 60 = 300 stems = 30 bunches

To keep costs down, help with flower math is not included in Loose Flower packages.

If you need help figuring out what to order, we can do a DIY consulting call with you for $45/half hour.

What About Bloom Types?

We offer three categories of blooms: Focal Flowers, Supporting Flowers, and Foliage. When you order, you’ll need to tell us how many bunches of each type of flower you want.

For well-rounded arrangements, we recommend ordering a mix of 1/4 Focal Flowers, 1/2 Supporting Flowers, and 1/4 Foliage.

Types of Loose Flowers

Our Loose Flowers come by the bunch, where a bunch contains 10 stems. We offer blooms in 3 categories: Focal Flowers, Supporting Flowers, and Foliage.

Focal Flowers – $26/bunch

The stars of your floral arrangements! These are large and in-charge primo flowers. Focal flowers are typically, though not always, a round shape. They are the focal point of an arrangement.

We recommend that 1/4 of your flowers be Focal Flowers.

Examples of Focal Flowers
Spring: Tulips, Ranunculus, Peonies, Hellebores, Anemones
Summer: Lillies, Lisianthus, Roses, Rudbeckia, Sunflowers, Dahlias
Fall: Dahlias, Sunflowers, China Asters, Heirloom Chrysanthemum

Supporting Flowers – $18/bunch

Supporting blooms will give your arrangements shape and texture–they are so important! Supporting blooms can be disk-shaped, delicate, airy, fluffy, or spike-shaped. This is a wide category with lots of different kinds of blooms.

We recommend that 1/2 of your flowers be Supporting Flowers.

Examples of Supporting Flowers
Spring: Feverfew, Yarrow, Sweet William, Geum, Larkspur, Lilac
Summer: Queen Anne’s Lace, Foxglove, Scabiosa, Snapdragons, Zinnias
Fall: Celosia, Amaranth, Veronica, Sedum, Strawflower, Talinum, Zinnias

Foliage – $15/bunch

Beautiful foliage is the base for most great arrangements. It’s a must for natural-looking, organic-feeling florals.

We recommend that 1/4 of your flowers be Foliage.

Examples of Foliage
Spring: Mint, Asparagus, Cress, Bupleurum, Ferns, Solomon’s Seal
Summer: Basil, Scented Geranium, Lemon Verbena
Fall: Eucalyptus, Sage, Raspberry Foliage, Foraged Branches
